Rainy days with occasional peeks of sunshine, happy mail, one very long-awaited library book pickup, catching up on sewing projects (still working on perfecting my points) and a few days cool enough for sipping hot tea out on the patio… this was another beautiful week.

Thanks, Paige! Loving this QAL – it’s exciting to see the quilt blocks all coming together. The flower is from a wild blackberry vine, but they look very similar! 😊

Thanks, Bernie! I’m really happy with the way the colors are working out together! I’m coming up a little short on fabric, so I’ll be throwing in a pretty mustardy-gold floral to the mix as well… fingers crossed it turns out as well as I’m thinking it will! 😊

It’s good to look through the photos I’ve taken this week and remind myself of the things that have made me happy. My son has just finished reading The Girl on the Train – he’s planning to study English literature at uni from September.

Happy reminders are always a great thing. Good luck to your son! I was an English Literature and Communications major in school and loved it. 😊 Heading over to read your happy things now!

Wow Amanda! Your photographs are superb and they convey such a tranquil feeling. That block 😍😍😍. Did your happy mail arrive via Canada Post or UPS/DHL? I super stoked for my bundle to arrive. Happy weekend!

Thank you! I skipped ahead a bit on the QAL… I just couldn’t help myself (love how it’s turning out)! The bundle arrived Canada Post yesterday from NJ. I’m surprised you haven’t gotten yours yet. Fingers crossed you get it soon!

Yay, maybe it’s waiting in the mailbox tonight. I’m so glad you skipped ahead on the QAL, as I did too 😜. I love how yours is turning out. So lovely with the floral background and color palette!

Thank you! It’s turning out a little differently than what I originally had planned, but I really love it! It’s a little smaller than the baby size, but that’s nothing a border won’t fix! 😂

This is a wonderful post. What is that flower? Delicate flowers like that don’t do well here in Colorado. The Girl on the Train is such a great book, I hope you’re enjoying it!

Thanks, Stephanie! The flower was on a wild blackberry vine. We always had blackberries in my yard growing up in Florida, but I don’t ever remember seeing them with flowers. Couldn’t pass up taking the photo. 😊 And the book is wonderful! Well worth the long wait!

Thanks so much, Sue! I underestimated the yardage of my initial fabric choices for the F+P quilt, so it’s going to be a bit smaller than the baby size… I’ve also had to throw in a couple more fabrics, but that’s what you get when you’re quilting with remnants! Haha. I’m excited to see how it turns out! Have you started your piecing yet? Can’t wait to see your progress. 😊

I’ve decided to add more blocks instead of adding borders to make mine larger than throw size so I’ve had to raid my stash for extra fabric. I’m coming along with the piecing and making good progress. I’m enjoying it! I will need to break the rhythm to make my Cloud 9 block this week though.

That will look great! I’m wishing I had enough fabric to do the same, but I think I’ll just add a border instead. 😄
